“Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.
In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper removes a pilar cyst from a patient’s eyelid.
• Pilar cysts usually form around hair follicles and are filled with keratin.
• They’re also common, affecting up to one in ten people, and usually benign.
Dr. Pimple Popper’s ultra-modern manner is tough to observe—and that’s mainly authentic if you show up to be the patient. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—extracts a cyst from simply above a patient’s eyelid. “Don’t blink or you will miss this!” she jokes inside the submit’s caption.
As one commenter—and reputedly longtime fan—responded, “This is the first time I’ve watched considered one of her videos and yelled via it. I bet my line is drawn at eyelids.
Thankfully for the female being treated, Dr. Lee’s line isn’t always drawn at pilar cysts, sometimes referred to as wents, that are noticeably not unusual—affecting up to 10 percent of the population, in line with Medical News Today. A pilar cyst on the eyelid, but, is greater of a rarity—in maximum cases, pilar cysts shape around hair follicles at the scalp and replenish with keratin, a sort of protein observed in hair, pores and skin, and nails.
Thankfully, they tend to be benign and pose no real risks to the patient, aside from being fairly unsightly. In most cases, they’re handled just as smoothly as Dr. Lee does in the video above. Easy as it looks, but, it’s higher to leave the remedy inside the arms of a expert than try pinching them to your own.
