Behaviour Interactive is busy. While Dead By Daylight is still a force in the multiplayer space, Behaviour Interactive has been busy tinkering with various things. But the most important news is its new IP.

Meet Your Maker, the next big multiplayer game from Behaviour, is a completely different beast than Dead By Daylight.

The ‘Builder-Raider” first-person game takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting where resources are scarce, and the remaining population protects what little they have by building trap-filled outposts. It has a very Quake-like visual style, especially the Strogg-like enemy design.

It reminded me of Metal Gear Solid V’s online infiltration mode via Doom Eternal. This is a tempting prospect. Online players will have the option to either test their might with a unique base or to go out into the wilderness to take down other players.

Ashley Panel, from Behaviour, explained that players could build or raid alone or with their friends. They can also watch other players try to beat them in replay mode. The panel went on to reveal more.

Raiding will be the “instant gratification” side of the game. Players can jump in to tackle outposts at their leisure and collect the goods. Although it takes more time and effort, I think Build mode sounds more exciting.

Meet Your Maker will ensure that no one publishes an “impossible post.” The key requirement is a clear pathway to the prize at all outposts. This prize includes genetic material necessary to cultivate ‘Chimera, a creature that could be the key to the planet’s future.

Loadouts are customizable to meet the needs of each outpost. Guards can also be placed on predetermined paths or traps plotted in build mode. There is no punishment for having an outpost taken down, and there are incentives for both sides. It’s important to keep the package alive by encouraging player participation.
