It’s a huge day for Electronic Arts. This afternoon, a new rumour circulated on the internet suggesting that Amazon might announce an imminent company purchase. Although this has yet to be confirmed, it has sparked much discussion. Details about EA’s upcoming Need For Speed video game have been leaked.

Last year, delays caused the latest Need For Speed entry to be delayed. EA set the release date by a year to allow Criterion to assist in developing Battlefield. Evidently, there weren’t enough people to do Battlefield 2104 HTML2_. We have our first glimpse of the game’s potential, and the focus has returned to Need For Speed.

Reddit user TOPRamanNoodl3s posted a short gameplay video. But don’t be too excited. It’s only three seconds long. It’s still nice to glimpse what’s coming, even though it’s only three seconds long. The video shows a blue car colliding into a sculpture, causing the screen to flicker before a skull-and-crossbones symbol appears.

Another user confirmed that jumps would be accompanied by ‘eagle wings’ animations, which we briefly see in this clip. Drag racing and drift events will not be included in the game, but speedcross will still return. There is also expected to be a simplified upgrade process and “strong female/cultural representation.” The launch window for the game is 2023.
