Man arrested after allegedly trafficking stolen McDonald’s Pokemon Cards

The Gila Herald reports that a man from Pima in Arizona was taken into custody on 14 August for theft and trafficking stolen property. An officer pulled over Troy Partin (32). He had a box with McDonald’s Pokémon cards inside his car. The card had been reported missing.

According to a Pima Police report, an officer pulled Partin over when he failed to stop at a stop sign at intersections. After doing so, Partin was discovered not to have a valid driver’s license. However, he claimed he was driving to meet with a friend to buy food. The officer found the box during Partin’s vehicle search. It contained 200 Pokemon cards with the McDonald’s logo. He claimed that he bought them and would sell some to his friend.

The officer soon discovered that Partin was an employee at McDonald’s. The store informed the police that the cards had been stolen. Partin was fired after a second official confirmed the theft. According to reports, Partin was already on probation for drug-related offenses, and a petition was filed on 16 August to have it revoked.

These cards were the Pokemon Happy Meals cards. The packs Partin stole are supposedly worth approximately $120 (PS103). After his arrest, Partin was taken to the Graham County Adult Detention Facility.
