We have officially Announced: Assassin’s Creed mirage, Bringing Back Stealth Gaming.

Today’s announcement of the Assassin Creed Mirage was made at Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Showcase. Basim, of Valhalla fame, will be the star of the new title. Fans will enjoy a return of stealth gameplay in the game, much to their delight.

Mirage will take Basim from a street orphan to a master assassin. It is set in 9th Century Baghdad. Players will learn from Roshan, a veteran assassin (played here by Shohreh Aghdashloo), and be thrust into familiar territory with some new features.

Parkour has been speeded up and will be crucial to get around the rooftops in this new sandbox. The level design was modified to give you lots of opportunities to run and jump, as well as hide amongst the scenery. Ubisoft said this was part of their “modern approach to gameplay.”

The ‘Assassin’s Focus’ skill slows down time, allowing players to perform multiple actions in a sequence. Takedowns are one example of this new feature. This feature looks great, and I can already see myself using it at every turn.

A mine and blowpipe have been added to the arsenal. This will allow you to deal with new targets while still maintaining the stealth of Mirage. An arrow can be used to kill your eagle assistant by enemies, so make sure you are aware of this when recon.

The most striking thing about the reveal is the Assassin Creed Mirage world. Mirage is set in 9th Century Baghdad. This cityscape was nearly completely lost in the 14th Century. It offers a beautiful, intricately-designed play space for Basim to explore.

Although no release date has been announced, Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch sometime in 2023. It will be available on PC and Amazon Luna.
