About Quake 2
Quake II was released in December 1997. The player shoots enemies through the eyes of the main character. In terms of controls and movement, the gameplay is similar to Quake. However, the player’s speed has slowed, and she can now crouch. Quake’s eight weapons (the Shotgun Super Shotgun Grenade Launcher, and Rocket Launcher) are still available in the game. However, they have been visually redesigned and function slightly differently.
Quake II does not include the remaining Quake weapons, the Axe and Thunderbolt. Six new weapons have been added to Quake II: the Blaster (machine gun), Chain Gun, Hyperblaster, and Railgun. Quake II features the Quad Damage power-up from Quake, while new power-ups include Ammo Packs, Invulnerability, Bandolier, Enviro-Suit and Rebreather, and Silencer and Silencer.
