Official Confirmation of ‘FIFA 23’ and ‘Ted Lasso’ by AFC Richmond
It is there, folks. Confirmation. We addressed the fact that Ted Lasso looked set to appear in FIFA23. The official Twitter account of the TV series showed the titular coach being scanned for a game. Before that, AFC Richmond appeared briefly on a FIFA database. EA has put all doubts to rest. Officially, Ted Lasso & AFC Richmond will be appearing in FIFA 23.
EA states that fans can unlock AFC Richmond-related items. These items include kits, tifos, and Manager items. Ted Lasso, the famously played by Jason Sudeikis will be available in Career Mode as a selectable manager for AFC Richmond. However, he can also manage “any team [your] choosing”. If you don’t like Ted, you can choose another manager to run AFC Richmond.
Sudeikis spoke out about the experience in a press release. Sudeikis stated that he was truly grateful and privileged to have experienced many memorable moments in his career, including this one. We are long-time fans and admirers of EA SPORTS FIFA. Having Ted Lasso and all the AFC Richmond players incorporated into the latest version of the game is truly an amazing moment for me and the rest. We are humbled that this show resonates with so many people. We are excited for our fans to have the chance to play with, or even against, their favorite AFC Richmond characters.
AFC Richmond fans can also play in the ‘Rest of The World” league in Kick-Off and Online Friendlies. Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, and Jamie Tartt all feature in the Greyhounds’ squad. This is not all. Nelson Road, AFC Richmond’s legendary home stadium, will also be featured. My excitement for FIFA 23 grew tenfold.
