Stadia Player in ‘Red Dead Redemption 2″ Loses 6,000 Hours of Progress
Google announced that Stadia would be shutting down in 2023. According to reports, employees found out about the closing 45 minutes before the public. Customers will receive a full refund for all Stadia-related hardware, games, and add-on content purchased through Google Store. Indie developers took to social media to discuss how the decision would impact their upcoming releases. However, it will also affect players. One Red Dead Redemption II player revealed that they could lose 6,000 hours of progress.
GamesRadar reported that ItsColourTV, a Twitter user, took to the site to express their disappointment. They tweet, “No, you don’t understand how serious p*ssed I am.” A screenshot shows that they have spent nearly 5,908 hours on Red Dead Redemption II on Stadia. ItsColourTV is now at risk of losing all its progress following Google’s announcement.
Explained that “For context, these hours were on Google Stadia, and today Google announced that they’d be closing down the platform. Rockstar Games, please let us do a one-time character transfer. You are my only hope.” GamesRadar pointed out that this is 246 days of play, which could be quickly lost.
Red Dead Redemption enthusiasts are already supporting ItsColourTV as they attempt to get Rockstar Games’ attention. We are also throwing our hats in the ring. Rockstar, don’t let this devotion go to waste.
