The plot thickens. A major cyber attack occurred just a few days ago on Rockstar Games. Grand Theft Auto VI video footage was taken and leaked online. This confirmed the rumored female protagonist as well as Vice City’s setting. Fans have been mapping Vice City since then while Rockstar Games continues to fight the leak through DMCA takedowns. It appears that GTA IV’s source code may have also been stolen.

Talking of GTA, this mod lets you play The Boys_ Homelander in GTAVI.

Insider Gaming reported that GTA VI’s source codes would have been stolen. Although it has been suggested that hackers targeted both GTA IV and GTA VIIsource codes, Insider Gaming stated that they have not been able “to see any evidence that the GTA VIII source code or significant portions of it [were] compromised.”

Source code files, screenshotted images, and 90 gameplay development clips were posted online. Rockstar has not commented on this species and can only verify it, but the statement they have previously made doesn’t appear to indicate that it had any impact on their projects.

Rockstar reminded me that the hacker was still under investigation.
