Call of Duty: Warzone is being taken offline
Call Of Duty Warzone 2.0 will launch worldwide on November 16.
The popular battle royale will stop running at 4 pm GMT on November 16, so developer Raven Software can focus on making the sequel a robust and stable launch.
Good news! The original Warzone will be returning to the market on November 28. It is unclear how long Activision will continue to support Warzonegames, but I imagine the original will eventually be phased out.
Raven Software confirmed this in its latest Call of Duty blog. Raven Software also stated that cosmetics earned in Warzone wouldn’t be transferred to Warzone 2.0. I am sorry if this was the case. The future is Warzone 2.0.
The game will go live officially at 6 pm GMT on 16/11/2010 as part of Modern Warfare2’s season one. November 16 falls on a Wednesday if you have been paying attention to your calendar. This means that you will need to complete a few days’ works before you can start the weekend.
Online games, especially free-to-play, often have rough launches. Raven Software will “focus on ensuring that the new Warzone2.0 free to-play ecosystem runs effectively”, but I would be surprised if we didn’t encounter some issues over those first few days. Let’s see.
