GTA Online players don’t believe upcoming vehicle price changes will help counter griefing incidents.
Although many GTA Online players may already have their minds set on what might happen once GTA 6 releases, others simply aim to maximize the time left in Los Santos before GTA 6 arrives.
With Last Dose missions to complete and events taking place throughout the game’s universe – as well as recent deliveries of cool cars that offer storage facilities – there’s still plenty to keep enterprising criminals engaged, regardless of their chosen method of play.
Rockstar announced several changes to vehicle pricing that might upset long-time players during its Newswire post about this month’s update; these seem particularly unfavorable to long-time gamers.
Do you agree with these planned price changes for some of GTA Online’s most contentious vehicles?
GTA veterans’ displeasure with recent price changes is evident in an active thread on GTA Online subreddit initiated by user PapaXan who posted the list of price modifications set to take place starting April 27.
Rockstar has stated that these changes aim to better represent the value of vehicles to players; some models, such as Brute Armored Boxville and HVY Chernobog are being decreased to make them more accessible while some, like Pegassi Oppressor Mark Twos are becoming more costly due to their “outsized utility, performance or powerful weapons”.
Many players don’t seem to believe these changes, particularly price increases to vehicles often utilized by griefers, will actually improve the playing experience; PapaXan stated as much by noting “this change could just be designed as an inducement for players to spend quickly before prices increase in two weeks (time). Some changes make sense while some like those affecting Granger and Champion don’t. Who exactly are grievers by either?”
Other users seemed to agree, with LKincheloe suggesting: “If they offered un-weaponized Traveler bikes (at) $2 million each then I (could) understand price changes.” and CommonCullen lamenting “I feel bad for all the new players who will continue being harassed by Mark Two (and need) to save up $8 million before getting their own.”
IronMark666 had an insightful viewpoint of Los Santos’ current market for newer arrivals, explaining: “Long-term players in Los Santos now resemble (real life) boomers by buying houses and investing at just the right times while younger generation struggles for similar gains.
