Hogwarts Legacy developer has begun development work for its next game.
Be wary – games developer Avalanche Software, best known for developing Hogwarts Legacy, has already begun work on its next title.
Hogwarts Legacy’s sequel appears inevitable; after selling so well right out the gate – in just days becoming the highest selling Harry Potter game ever, and shifting millions of copies – Warner Bros. Games was clearly delighted. They stated earlier that Hogwarts Legacy would become part of a long-term franchise which implies there could potentially be multiple sequels down the line based on that statement alone. But let’s not jump ahead.
So the big question remains: is Avalanche Software working on another Hogwarts Legacy sequel at this point in time? According to Game Rant’s reporting, initial evidence for Avalanche’s next game can be seen in job listings posted by Warner Bros. Discovery looking for software engineers; one listing stated specifically that their prospective employee will work on “an unannounced AAA console title”.
Not to be forgotten is that now on their website there’s still a listing for a software engineer position, yet no mention of an unannounced game is present on that page. This could be for any number of reasons – perhaps the previous position had already been filled; perhaps an error had occured or perhaps they simply don’t want people guessing what game the team are currently working on…? Whoops. Oops… Mistake.
At present, this is all we know for certain – though keep in mind that this could change at any moment, with the team possibly being involved with something totally unrelated to Harry Potter at work on something completely unrelated to it – we just have to wait and see!
