Battlefield V is an epic first-person shooter video game from EA DICE and Electronic Arts that was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 20, 2018 worldwide. Pre-orderers who purchased Deluxe Edition received early access on November 15, while Origin Access Premium subscribers in PC received access on November 9, 2018. Set during World War II as its theme continues from that of its precursor battlefield from World War I 1, Battlefield V is set in modern day North America as its setting.
Preceding its launch, Battlefield V met with mixed reviews; fan reaction to its trailer generated strong outrage due to historical inaccuracy and inclusion of female soldiers was immediate and strong. On its launch itself, however, its critics generally welcomed it, though there were several quibbles regarding content shortage and innovation; with over 7 Million units sold by end of 2018 (but an overall commercial disappointment for Electronic Arts), including 1 Review that called Battlefield V “a commercial failure.”
