Starsector’s world is very detailed. In cycle 206 (3126), the action takes place on the arm of Perseus. This is one of four arms that make up the Milky Way. This is just one sector that has been affected by the resource wars caused by the cut-off from space.
Humanity ruled over a vast part of Milky Way in the past. A council based on the “Old Earth” governed the entire empire called domain of mankind. It controlled a large area divided up into sectors. Movement between these was made possible by special gates. All the communication channels to the human realm were cut one day. Insufficient food and the lack of communication with the other planets of the empire led to the war.
