Resident Evil Zero remake teased by an insider prior to the public reveal
Even though it has brought us some of the top games in the genre of survival horror ever, Resident Evil can swing and hit on occasions.
The game was developed in collaboration with Capcom, Resident Evil players have been well since the series’ launch in 1996. However, there haven’t always been good for Capcom’s Japanese studio. Every Resident Evil 2, there’s Resident Evil 3. Resident Evil 6 and a game that didn’t quite meet the expectations to a large number of players was Resident Evil Zero.
It’s not that I’m complaining being a passionate player of the game, I was still a fan of Resident Evil Zero that was released in the same time frame as the highly acclaimed Nintendo GameCube version in the year 2002. Resident Evil Zero featured some interesting ideas, including dual protagonists like Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen which players could swap between at any time.
However, for some reason there were a lot of people who are fans from Resident Evil’s Resident Evil series just couldn’t get along in with Resident Evil Zero and the grotesque genetically altered Leeches which were featured throughout the game. It’s not that Resident Evil Zero was not a great game, but it wasn’t the best game ever, but it simply didn’t meet the high standards that were previously established by the iconic series.
But, according to an upcoming rumour it is possible the case that Resident Evil Zero could be getting another shot by remaking it completely and is scheduled for an announcement in the near future by Capcom. This rumour comes from of a reputable industry insider as well as leaker of details, Dusk Golem.
In the past, Dusk Golem claimed that Resident Evil 9 is expected to be released in the near future and that it will release in the first quarter of next year. But it is no longer to be the scenario. A different leaker in the industry, DanielRPK claimed that the first Resident Evil will be getting a new remake..
In a recent Twitter post, Dusk Golem not only states the fact that Resident Evil 9 isn’t being announced this year, but instead we’ll get the highly demanded Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake, as well as the previously mentioned remake Resident Evil Zero.
Reacting to a response to a tweet Twitter, Dusk Golem claims that the widely-rumored Resident Evil Zero remake is being made with the help of K2 & M-Two, the same company that created Resident Evil 3 in 2020. Resident Evil 3 remake, and also provided support to Capcom Dev 1 on last year’s Resident Evil 4 remake. K2 & M-Two also developed the Resident Evil 4 DLC Separate ways.
Naturally, it is best to consider all speculations with a grain of salt until they are proven to be true. But, as I said earlier I believe in the fact that there’s nothing but fire and smoke, which means that I am hoping there is at the very least some truth in the stories.
For the latest installment in the series, it’s the Resident Evil 4 remake as well as its Separate Ways DLC is available for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
