Diner Dash 1 is an educational video game featuring strategy elements. Gameplay involves seating customers and guiding Flo around your restaurant to serve them – if enough money has been earned at each level, advancement occurs and further challenges await players!
As she progresses through the game, Flo upgrades the dilapidated restaurant she starts out in and builds three additional eateries to provide new settings. Gameplay revolves around catering to customers to gather as much revenue as possible while moving Flo around to complete tasks efficiently.
As customers enter, Flo must guide them onto tables where they sit down to read menus before taking orders from them to take to the service hatch; once their food has been prepared by Chef Flo they must deliver it directly back. Once customers are finished eating, Flo must conduct a check for them; upon checking-out they leave both a tip and their dishes on the table before departing the restaurant. He must then clear away these dishes to allow the next set of customers access to that table. Each successful action earns points, while repeating one action earns them chain bonuses that must be broken by performing different ones.
