Rumors of Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake Gain Traction with New Evidence

New evidence suggests that a remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is in development. A recent update from a developer’s LinkedIn page points to a project in the works at Virtuos, a China-based studio, using Unreal Engine 5. While the game is not explicitly named, many believe this to be the rumored Oblivion remake, especially with the mention of PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

Rumors about an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, and insiders like Jez Corden have predicted a reveal as early as January 2025. The use of Unreal Engine 5 suggests that this could be a full remake rather than a simple remaster, possibly following the success of recent remakes in the industry.

In addition, the fan-made Skyblivion mod, which recreates Oblivion in Skyrim‘s engine, has also teased a 2025 release.

While fans eagerly await more information, The Elder Scrolls series’ future remains uncertain, with Elder Scrolls 6 expected years from now, following Starfield‘s release.
