Daybreak Game Company published H1Z1, a battle royale game that is free to play. You can play as a solo player, in a duo or group with five players. The goal is to be the last person or team standing. Each match begins with players parachuting from an unknown location above the map. They must find a way to defend themselves once they have landed. You can do this by hiding from other players or grabbing a weapon to hunt them down actively. Players can place vehicles on the map to help them chase down their opponents or escape quickly. You can find weapons, equipment and first aid supplies in your surroundings. A crafting system allows players to make their tools. For example, they can deconstruct scavenged items and create functional bandages or armour. As the game progresses, the map is compressed by a toxic gas cloud, which causes damage to those who remain within it. The map becomes smaller, and players find themselves nearby. The gas spreads, in short, timed bursts and causes more damage during the latter stages of the match.
