Waves of Death is a first-person shooter (FPS). It was developed on the Unreal Engine(r) 4. It is also accessible in a VR version available on Steam with the codename WavesOfDeath VR. The game is a game of “survival” with a time limitation to intensify the strain on the player. It has 26 levels that must be completed so you can score the most. The player must progress and fight off hordes of creatures like skeletons, zombies and bloodthirsty bosses. They are stronger and more resistant.
The interface is very easy to operate. It’s a classic HUD. A lot of work has been done on meta-representations (e.g. blood, hits).
There are two degrees of difficulty.
WEAPONS
In the course of the adventure, players are given new weapons which are better and stronger. The weapons can be unlocked when the player has completed the game that is won and most importantly, based on the points scored.
ENEMIES
There are a lot of enemies and they fall into three types. Zombies, Skeletons and Bosses. Their abilities increase in the course of play and some of their abilities include handling guns or possessing superpowers.
The skeletons tend to be more efficient and have better equipment. Originating from the most old cemetery, they date back to the time when swords were utilized to fight. They carry protection and shields and are very effective when fighting. They usually live in the countryside, in major cities, in forests or in villages. Certain, and more dangerous are found in catacombs…
The zombies can be slow, however, they can move fast in large numbers. They are known to seek human contact, and will often try to gain access to Jake and try to consume Jake. Certain types are smarter and might use weapons however they’re not common and are only seen in the final levels. They usually appear within the city, or along the principal highways.
The Bosses are more powerful, larger and robust and are modified genetically by the military. They have escaped from an underground laboratory and used the chaos to work for climbing up the food chain. The attacks they unleash are deadly and could end your life when you’re not properly protected.
ASSAULT WAVES
Each stage has three waves of enemies that last 5 minutes each. Bosses interrupt the game with strategically placed points. The game has 26 levels. Each player has to go through the 78 levels to reach the conclusion of the game and thus free Lilly.
