Big Atlus Announcements Teased for 2025
Atlus fans have a lot to look forward to in 2025, with hints suggesting multiple exciting releases on the horizon. In a recent interview with developers, including several from Atlus, it was revealed that the company is working on several unannounced projects, possibly including Persona 6.
2024 has been a successful year for Atlus, with major releases like Persona 3 Reload, Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, and Metaphor: ReFantazio—which earned several accolades at The Game Awards. But it looks like the company isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
In an annual feature by 4Gamer, game developers across Japan share their thoughts on the upcoming year. Nine of the 164 developers interviewed were from Atlus, and many hinted at exciting new titles in the works. While specifics were kept under wraps, the developers mentioned they were eager to announce these projects once they’re ready. This suggests that 2025 could be a year filled with big surprises.
Although Persona 5: The Phantom X is already confirmed for a 2025 release in Japan, the new titles referenced seem to be unrelated to that project. It’s possible that Atlus is planning additional DLC for Metaphor: ReFantazio, but sources have pointed to the potential for entirely new games.
The development team emphasized that they are proceeding cautiously, given the large number of projects underway, and they want to avoid delays like those experienced with Persona 5, which was announced in 2013 but only released in 2016. This careful approach means fans might have to wait a little longer for official announcements, but the studio’s commitment to delivering exciting new experiences remains clear.
Stay tuned for more updates on Atlus’ upcoming projects, which could include Persona 6 or something entirely new.
