PC gamers are seeing more games that were previously PlayStation exclusives, such as the port of God of War (2018), which was released on Steam earlier in the year, and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, which will be available for PC tomorrow.

\This is a great thing for all involved. More people can try amazing games, and the entire internet basks in the glory of all mods created for them.

A PlayStation job listing appeared to suggest that more PC ports might be heading our way. The role required someone to optimize “PC sales growth” and identify “future sector and partnership for commercial growth within PC gaming. You don’t currently need a PSN account to play PlayStation’s PC ports. However, VGC reported that this could change.

The FAQ section on the PlayStation website answers the question “Do I need a PSN Account to Play PlayStation Games on PC?” unusually: “No, at the moment, you do not need a PSN Account to Enjoy PlayStation Studios Games on PC,” it says. Some gamers may need one in the future.

This is not surprising. A different PlayStation job role, spotted in May, suggested that PSN Platform Integration was coming to PC. So it looks like this will not be an optional feature but a requirement. This will be interesting to see.
