Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Final Boss Nerfed in Latest Patch

If you’ve already bested Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss, congratulations—you now have bragging rights that few can claim. FromSoftware’s latest patch has nerfed the expansion’s final battle, making it significantly easier, so anyone who manages it from now on will have a slightly less punishing experience.

While the final fight is still no walk in the park (unless you possess Let Me Solo Her-level skills), it’s been toned down to be more forgiving. Spoilers ahead, but if you’re already in the trenches of Elden Ring, you’re likely familiar with the chaos surrounding Radahn. The patch makes Radahn’s attacks less damaging, less flashy, and more predictable. So, while he’s still a tough challenge, his overwhelming attacks and stamina-draining abilities are now a little more manageable.

Some key changes include:

  • Reduced damage and stamina damage from several attacks.
  • Shortened the range of certain non-weapon attacks.
  • Improved visibility on certain attack effects, making it easier to dodge.
  • Adjustments to Radahn’s attack pattern at the start of the battle, which could alter how players approach the fight.

Alongside these balance tweaks, Elden Ring PvP players will also notice some downgrades to certain skills, like Backhand Blades and Scattershot Throw, reducing their damage output in player-versus-player combat.

While the patch brings the usual array of bug fixes and minor tweaks, the nerfs to Radahn have taken center stage, prompting pre-nerf veterans to joke about printing “I beat Radahn pre-nerf” t-shirts. So, if you took down the giant before this patch, you officially belong to an exclusive club.

You can check out the full patch notes for version 1.14 below—but for now, rest easy knowing that anyone facing Radahn from here on will have it just a little easier than you did.
