The Tales of series is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025, and Bandai Namco is bringing more classic titles back to life with a new wave of remasters. During a recent livestream, producer Yusuke Tomizawa announced the “Remastered Project,” which aims to bring beloved entries from the Tales of franchise to modern consoles. The first confirmed release is Tales of Graces Remastered, scheduled to launch in January 2025.
Tomizawa also revealed that a dedicated development line has been established to ensure the consistent release of remastered titles while another team focuses on developing new games in the series. The Tales of series has a rich history, beginning with Tales of Phantasia on the SNES in 1995. Since then, the franchise has grown to include over 15 mainline titles alongside numerous spin-offs.
Tales of Arise, the latest entry released in 2021, set franchise records, selling over three million units and achieving widespread critical acclaim. Bandai Namco has previously found success with remasters, such as Tales of Symphonia, which has seen multiple ports and re-releases over the years. With fans anticipating both remastered classics and new titles, the Remastered Project ensures that the Tales of series will continue to thrive on modern platforms.
