About the Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania game that Team Cherry has published. While exploring the underground world, the player controls an insect-like, silent knight.
A cone-shaped, pointed sword that is used in both combat and environmental interaction, the knight wields a Nail.
The player will encounter hostile insects and other creatures in most of the game’s areas.
To strike enemies at a distance, the player can use the nail to combat them. You can also use spells to make long-range attacks. Defeated enemies drop currency called Geo.
The knight begins with a limited amount of mask shards. These are hit points for the character.
To increase your health, you can collect more mask shards throughout the game. A mask is destroyed when the knight suffers damage from the enemy or the environment.
The knight can gain a Soul by striking enemies. This Soul is stored in the Soul Vessel.
The knight is killed if all his masks are gone. A Shade will appear at the spot. To recover lost currency and maintain a normal amount of Soul, the player must defeat the Shade.
The game continues at the last visited bench. They are scattered around the game world and act as save points. However, the player loses all Geo and can only hold a small amount of Soul.
The player initially can only use Soul to “Focus”, and regenerate mask fragments. However, as the game progresses, the player unlocks many offensive spells that consume Soul.
