Under the direction of Dr. James Whitman, 21-year-old archaeologist Lara Croft embarked on an expedition into the Pacific in an attempt to locate Yamatai Island.
However, she eventually hit upon another search area: Dragon Triangle Whitman remains skeptical, suspecting the island to be elsewhere, while Conrad Roth trusts Lara’s intuition to navigate their ship to the dragon triangle where the storm hit hard leaving them stranded on an unknown island.
On failing to reach her ship’s crew – boatswain Grimm, technician Alex, ship’s cook Jonah, mechanic Reyes, Lara’s best friend Sam and Whitman – Lara is kidnapped by islanders and held captive in a cave until she can escape on her own. Lara begins searching for her ship, the Endurance. With help of radio communication with Roth and Sam’s return at campfire with Mathias; unfortunately while Lara sleeps they two disappear into thin air.
