Age of Empires II is an online real-time strategy game focused on building towns, gathering resources and raising armies against adversaries. Players battle rival towns and empires as they advance any one of 13 civilizations through four “Ages:” the Dark Age, Feudal Age, Castle Age (High Middle Ages) and Imperial Age, which mimics Renaissance in that its duration spans 1,000 years.
Advance to a new Age to unlock new units, structures and technologies; however players must first construct certain buildings from their current Age before paying a sum in resources (typically food and gold) before transitioning. Age of Empires II: The Conquerors is the inaugural expansion pack to 1999’s real-time strategy game Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings.
Microsoft Game Studios and Ensemble Studios’ Age of Empires: The Conquerors is the fourth installment in this epic strategy game series. Featuring five new civilizations (Aztecs, Mayans, Spanish, Koreans and Huns), four campaigns, eleven units with over 26 technologies for use during gameplay modes as well as new maps – along with numerous minor changes – there’s plenty to keep players busy here!
