The plot in 2142 can be best described as Battlefield 2 and The Day After Tomorrow. In the 2004 film, the World was suddenly enveloped by a modern-day Ice Age. As billions are forced to leave the icy Northern Hemisphere in search of the more friendly Southern Hemisphere, tensions rise and wars break out for the few remaining bits of habitable lands.
This translates into the European Union fighting the Russia-centered Pan Asian Coalition in order to escape Europe and settle themselves in North Africa. Battlefields will change from the war-torn European terrain , to the dry sands in North Africa. There are now only two factions. But why do the inhabitants of North Africa sit idly while their land is being invaded? These new factions, in any case, are very interesting.
