This game isn’t your average classroom; here, there will be no quizzes or word matching exercises; instead, its combat aspect aims to offer FPS enthusiasts a genuine challenge while teaching basic vocabulary of their target language – all the better to ensure your survival in combat situations!
Rocket Boy Games is a small two-person indie studio located in Canberra, Australia with the mission of offering engaging alternatives for language learning experiences. While our current game may only offer basic indie quality FPS gameplay experience at this point in time with your help we aim to expand this in future with additional languages, game modes, graphical improvements as well as more languages being added!

Well, we certainly think so! In truth, you might not get as much out of it than someone with more experience would, but with your support we could add additional levels of difficulty to this game as well as create additional titles aimed at various experience levels in future releases.
“How many hours of gameplay exist?”
As each individual learns at their own pace, we cannot accurately determine an estimated timeline of when you may complete it. Based on past experience we estimate 10 hours as being sufficient time.
Linguist FPS is a roguelike style game and you should expect to die frequently at first. Over time however, your language skills will improve making accessing weapons, armor and health much simpler as will your survival time increase with each attempt.
In addition to a training zone, the main game takes place across a large city with multiple possible starting locations and procedurally generated supply rooms with unique challenges and loot inside them – each time you respawn you will arrive in an entirely new area with new challenges and equipment waiting for you!
Note that: Our current build of the game may lack features like gamepad support and key rebinding; we expect future major updates will address these shortcomings and bring better optimization and gamepad compatibility.
