Escape From Tarkov is a strategic first-person shooter game being designed through Battlestate Games, a Russian studio. The game takes place within an imaginary Norvinsk region within Northwestern Russia.
The region was once considered a “special economic zone” that helped facilitate commerce between Russia as well as Europe. It was a disaster when it attracted corporations that had questionable motives. This led to a huge public scandal over corrupt corporations located in Norvinsk. Norvinsk region. A few weeks later, this issue became a raging conflict with various parties, which included members of Russian Internal Troops, United Nations peacekeepers and two private military corporations: United Security (USEC) and BEAR.
The boundaries of the Norvinsk area were closed and those within an area of war separated from the rest of the world. During the war, USEC was contracted by Terra Group, one of the corrupt businesses involved in the scandal to block the investigation. However, BEAR was employed by the Russian Government to find evidence of Terra Group’s involvement.
